WHAT IS IT?

LIBOR meets regularly every week. At the beginning of the term, all of the possible investment ideas are discussed. Any stock that is of interest to the student is discussed to be selected for LIBOR research. This research activity is known as the Bender Trust Project and is an amazing opportunity to display the students' skills in research and analysis. The research is conducted by LIBOR Senior and Junior Analysts in a one month period. After members make a brief presentation on their equity, a recommendation is made for the stock.

Senior Analyst's responsibilities include coordinating equity research as well as teaching the Junior Analysts the tools necessary to conduct an accurate and impressive analysis. A Senior Analyst usually works with 5 to 6 Junior Analysts whose responsibilities include researching a certain area of the company, gathering important financial information and directly contacting corporate management. This process involves significant teamwork since all the gathered information has to be processed in order to obtain a fundamental evaluation of the company. Research results are ultimately presented during a meeting for LIBOR members and the Bender Trust portfolio manager, Mr. Greg Francfort. Many of the investment recommendations become a part of the 1.6 million dollar portfolio.
